Our Story
Downlight Electrical started as a side project. Charlie spotted a gap in the local market for an electrical contractor that was genuinely honest, transparent, and easy to deal with, one that would answer the phone, turn up when they said they would, and charge a fair price without padding the quote.
Lee was an experienced electrician seeking the same thing on the business side. After collaborating on several jobs through 2018, they formed Downlight Electrical Ltd in early 2019.
The company grew quickly on the back of one simple principle: do good work, be straight with people, and the reputation will follow. That approach has not changed. We are still based in Fleet, we still answer our own phone, and we still price every job transparently.
What has changed is the range of work we take on. What started as domestic electrical maintenance and small jobs has grown to include full-house rewires, commercial maintenance contracts, EV charger installations, and solar PV systems (MCS-certified).
We have invested in training and accreditations to support growth, and we have added every new service area because we saw genuine demand from our existing customers.

We are a team of qualified electricians covering a 20-mile radius from our Church Crookham base. Since 2019, we have completed over 500 jobs across Hampshire, Surrey, and Berkshire. We hold a 5-star rating on Google from over 100 reviews, and the majority of our new work comes from repeat customers and word-of-mouth recommendations.
